Tikvat Yisrael a non-profit ministry

Tikvat Yisrael Messianic Synagogue is incorporated in the State of Ohio as a non-profit place of worship.  Tikvat's Articles of Incorporation are available click here  The IRS Internal Revenue Code section 508(c) sets out that churches (places of worship) are automatically recognized as tax-exempt under 501(c)(3), and the IRS does not require them to apply for tax-exempt status if they meet certain criteria; see rules "Exemption Requirements".  Tikvat Yisrael complies with these rules and maintains it's own Employer Tax ID number with the IRS.  All donations to our ministry are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Additionally, as pursuant to IRS rules, Tikvat Yisrael sends out receipts for all donations above $250 annually.  Receipts for less than $250 will be issued by donor request.  All requests may be made by Tikvat's contact information below.  Thank you for your support of this ministry.

Designated gifts policy

“The Board of the Elders of Tikvat Yisrael Messianic Synagogue reserves the right to designate funds for special ministry purposes. Additionally, the Board encourages its members and other financial supporters to make donations above and beyond and separate from their regular tithe support; to be “suggested designations” to one of our many projects and funds that fit within Tikvat Yisrael’s exempt purposes. (i.e. Missions, Benevolence, Building Fund, Cleveland Joseph Project, etc). The Board of Elders reserves the right to remove any restrictions on gifts when it is in the best interest of Tikvat Yisrael Messianic Synagogue, to do so.

The designated gift may NOT be:

1. Funneled through for any third-party organization or mission that either does or does not maintain their own State or Federal tax exemption number or status.

2. Funneled through to benefit any individual member or non-member of Tikvat Yisrael.


financial donations procedures

Donors may make suggested designations of their gifts by choosing from a list of funds provided on the tithe/giving envelopes, they may also write in a particular auxiliary ministry of Tikvat Yisrael such as:  (i.e. Missions, Children's Ministry, Benevolence, Building Fund, Cleveland Joseph Project, Youth Ministry, Sisterhood etc).  This same procedure is also available through online giving; a designation may be typed in to the online donation platform.  


Any designated gifts that do not appear to meet the stated policy shall be reported to the Board of Elders for their determination. If the Board determines that the gift does not comply with our policy, the gift shall be returned to the donor and no tax deduction will be issued.
