tefillah - prayer
Prayer was instituted corresponding to the daily sacrifices. (Berakhot 26b). Prayer therefore, is the first and most important activity of any believer. It is our "pipeline" to the Almighty. It is the basis of communication with our Creator and it is our life. Next to the study of Torah, there is nothing equal to Prayer. Often, the Master would disappear only to be found alone with His Father in intimate prayer. "And it was during these days that Yeshua went out to the mountain to pray, and He spent all night in prayer to God." (Luke 6:12). There is a weeknight prayer meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights, prayer is offered during services. Sometimes the rabbi also offers special prayer meetings, as in the recent COVID-19 crises. And Tikvat also has an IFI meeting (Intercessors for Israel) - see the link at bottom of this page for more information on IFI. CLICK HERE for info on current prayer meeting times being offered.

Children & Youth education
Our youth programs are a safe and undistracted place for our children and youth to grow in relationships with God and each other. The Shema prayer from Deut.6 tells us to teach our children when we arise and when we lie down and when we walk along the way. Training our children begins in the home, but also in the community. Tikvat trains and screens all employees, volunteers and youth workers who work with any minors. Programs begin with Nursery that is provided to parents of infants through age 4 during services. At age 5-11, elementry-age children are welcome to participate by REGISTERING in our CLUB MACCABEE program lead by Carrie Rodriguez and a team of qualified teachers who begin the process of religious education including early Hebrew knowledge. Quickly the children grow and by age 12 for girls and 13 for boys they graduate with a "Bnei Mitzvah" into our Youth Program. Teens up until age 18 are welcome to participate in our "Ha Nevchar" Youth organization which meets monthly here at Tikvat, and retreats and youth conferences with the YMJA (Young Messianic Jewish Alliance): The Messianic Jewish national Youth program.

Worship & liturgical ministry
Do you play an instrument, or sing? Tikvat's services are full of Messianic Jewish dynamic praise and worship music, and if you are spiritually gifted in this area, there is always a place for qualified musicians and singers to serve. Under the direction of Sonny Bihary, the worship team meets weekly for rehearsals. Members in good standing who are willing to serve may audition for a place on the worship team. Likewise, Tikvat's Liturgy team is also a place for those interested in serving in the area of leading the cantillations and prayers of the synagogue. While both worship and liturgy teams consist of volunteers, we strive for quality and excellence in all of our services. Rather than "performing" we are serving and singing to the Adon Olam (King of the Universe).

messianic men's club
גִּבּוֹרֵי הַחַיִל (Giborei Hachayil) "Mighty Men of Valor" is the way the Bible describes the men who conquered the Land of Israel under Joshua. Messianic Men gather together throughout the month regularly building each other up, strengthening their relationships with each other and God and encourage each other to become better husbands, fathers and leaders in our community. Accountability is a spiritual defense against the forces of evil in this world that want to take us down. All adult men are welcome at the gatherings of any age or status, married, single, young or old. Contact our office to get more information on the gathering of the brothers.
